This is a touchy subject, but I am really just looking for your opinions. We hear a lot about how many illegal immigrants we have in this country. I really do not have a problem personally with this, but I do understand the legitimate complaints about unpaid taxes, medical bills and jobs that citizens do not have because people who are here illegally take them.
I work with several hispanics who are probably illegal and they are wonderful people who only want what most of us want. To support our families. I really am torn with where I stand. I also hear my sister and her husband who are both physicians and they are always complaining about the expensive operations that they have to do, but know they will never be paid for by illegals. So...I get it, but I don't know how I feel about it.

ReplyDeletethere a better word? It sounds so degrading and it does not describe some that I have come in contact with. I understand that they are looking for the better life and I also know that they will do jobs that nobody wants to do, and cheaper. However, so many of them are taking jobs that could be putting Americans back to work, they are not paying taxes, and some are using someone else's Social Security card that they purchased.
On the other hand Immigration will send someone back that entered this country illegally but did so as a child with their parents and grew up here. There doesn't seem to be a balance.
I agree with you, Lita Aliens are for creatures like E.T. It makes me so sad to think of older children who have been raised here in this country being forced to move back to a culture that is struggling as Mexico is. I have friends at work who tell me that the cities where they are from are no longer safe to visit. I can't imagine knowing every day that you have a chance at being sent back.
